The workshop will be held at the Anfiteatro Abreu Faro of Instituto Superior Técnico (Complexo Interdisciplinar, Av. Rovisco Pais 1, 1049-001 Lisboa, Portugal).

How to reach Técnico:

Subway

The subway system is a convenient means of transportation for traveling within Lisbon and to reach Técnico. The closest subway stations are Alameda (Green and Red lines), on the Eastern side, and Saldanha (Yellow and Red lines), on the western side. Click here for the network diagram.

From the airport to Técnico

The subway connects the airport directly to the city center. From the airport, Técnico can be easily reached by taking the Red line to Saldanha station. We recommend this option instead of Alameda, as it avoids the steep uphill walk between Alameda station and Técnico. Alternatively, you can take a taxi/Uber/Bolt for less than 10€.

From Gare do Oriente to Técnico

If you travel by train, the best option is to exit in Gare do Oriente. From there, Técnico can be easily reached by taking the red line to Saldanha station.

For meals outside of the organised conference dinner, you can visit the following locations in and around the campus

Main IST canteen, in the south-east corner of the campus, offers a cheap lunch and dinner menu, with a vegetarian option available
Pingo Doce canteen, in the north-west corner of the campus, has a slightly better quality for a slightly higher price
Complexo Interdisciplinar bar, in the same building as the conference hall (in front of the entrance), offers coffee, pastries and lunch dishes
Restaurante O Rialva, right outside the campus, is a very affordable Portuguese restaurant
Pastelaria Açúcar & Canela, pastry shop which also offers lunch dishes
The Green Affair, vegan restaurant 2 mins away from the campus

On the same street as the last 3 locations you can find a variety of other restaurants. If you're craving a 'pastel de nata' after your meal, then Manteigaria is the place to go.
