Professor Teresa Peña nominated at NuPECC and distinguished at SPF

Professor Teresa Peña was recently appointed as the Portuguese representative on the Nuclear European Collaboration Committee (NuPECC). NuPECC's main objectives are to develop the European collaboration strategy in the field of nuclear sciences, supporting collaborative projects between research groups in Europe, and promoting nuclear physics and its transdisciplinary use in applications with benefits for society.

Last March, Professor Teresa Peña was also awarded the distinction of Honorary Member of the Portuguese Physics Society (SPF). This distinction “testifies to the highest consideration of this body for her contribution to the development of Nuclear Physics and for her dedication and exercise of functions in the SPF, where she held the position of President in the period 2013-2015, and in the European Physical Society (EPS), where she was a member of the executive committee in the period 2018-2021.”
