Professor Susana Freitas Elected Corresponding Member of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences

Susana Freitas, Professor at the Department of Physics of Instituto Superior Técnico and researcher at INESC MN, has been elected a Corresponding Member of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences, joining the 2nd Section – Physics.

Her election was formalized in a swearing-in ceremony on July 3rd, alongside four other professors from Técnico, reinforcing the strong presence of the institution within one of Portugal’s most prestigious scientific institutions.

The Lisbon Academy of Sciences promotes scientific research and cultural development, and Corresponding Members are selected for their significant contributions to their fields. They are invited to participate in plenary sessions, contribute to the Academy’s ongoing work, and support the advancement of their respective sections.

This recognition reflects Prof. Susana Freitas’s distinguished scientific career and her continued contributions to the advancement of physics and nanotechnology research in Portugal.
