Synthesis and identification of new nuclei is a pertinent quest having profound implications ranging from understanding fundamental interactions and astrophysical processes to energy applications.  One important route to access  new proton rich nuclei is by studying the spontaneous proton emission.

These studies with modern accelerator facilities are often supported and guided by calculations based on rigorous theoretical frameworks. The talk will focus on such frameworks primarily by solving a time dependent Schrödinger equation and appropriate angular momentum couplings.  Some important results obtained through  our collaboration will be discussed.
