Poster Session FAQs

1)Why should I present a poster?

This is a great opportunity to showcase your work and develop new communication skills. And... You can win a prize!

2) Who can present a poster at PhysFront’26?

All students from LEFT, MEFT, and the PhD programme in Physics and Engineering Physics who are currently working on (or have recently completed) PIC1, PIC2, a Master’s Thesis, or a PhD Thesis.

3) What is the deadline to reserve a spot for my poster at PhysFront'26, and how should I reserve it?

The deadline for poster submission is July 30, 2026. You have to fill the form above and also register to the event at:

https://fisica.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/physfront26/Registration.html

4) Will I be informed if my poster was accepted?
Yes, after the deadline is passed everyone who submitted the form will be informed about whether their posters have been accepted. Notice that the number of slots for each category (LEFT, MEFT, PhD) is limited, so we will basically follow a "first come, first serve" policy.

5) When do I have to have my poster printed?

The poster must be printed by the day before the event. All posters will be put up on the day before of the event itself.

6) I’ve never made/presented a poster before. What should a poster include?

After registration closes, we will send out guidelines regarding the poster requirements (dimensions, mandatory elements, where to print, etc.). A coaching session will also be organised to clarify any doubts students may have when preparing their posters.

7) What does the poster presentation session involve?

Posters will be displayed on the day of the event. During the sessions, you are expected to stand by your poster to answer any questions from participants. The whole event takes place in a very informal and relaxed atmosphere.

8) Are there prizes for the best posters?

Yes, there will be a prize for the best poster in each category (LEFT, MEFT and PhD), voted on by all participants of IST-PhysFront’26.
